I practice a relational form of psychodynamic therapy that views the therapeutic relationship as the site of potential transformation. I often have success working with people who have had negative or lackluster experiences in previous therapies and those who are ambivalent about beginning therapy. I specialize in longterm relational work and in working with adult men and athletes.

Hi there. I've lived in Maryland since 2012, and I am a fully licensed therapist. I really enjoy the work that I do, and it is my hope to meet my clients exactly where they are. I utilize a cognitive-behavioral and strength-based approach with my clients. I have worked clinically with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and I specialize in working with men's issues. Whether it's the heavy expectation we might place on ourselves or perhaps a specific relational concern, my hope is to be alongside you in a totally non-judgmental environment.

I have ten years of post-doctoral training in Jungian and contemporary relational psychoanalysis.
People consult therapists for many reasons. Being a psychotherapist is a great privilege - to meet people at critical times, to come to know them deeply, and to help them sort out bewildering, sometimes frightening, often painful thoughts and feelings. Therapy is about relationships, past and present, and especially our relationship to our own interior. It's been my life's work to help people know themselves and make better decisions about their lives. I'm happy to see anyone, with the will, integrity, and courage to open up and work on themselves in depth.

Understanding the ways in which our early relationships and life experiences can impact our relational patterns in both adaptive and maladaptive ways enables me to help patients make sense of their histories and restore a sense of openness and well being with self and others.
After working for over 30 years with individuals across all stages of the life span, I have come to believe that we are all wired for health in our relationships with self and others. In keeping with this premise, I employ a collaborative therapeutic style marked by warmth, empathy and respect. My therapeutic approach draws heavily from attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, emotion focused therapy, somatic work and mindfulness. This integration combines current psychological knowledge and techniques with ancient wisdom in order to support clients as they move more fully into health.

My therapeutic style is relational, compassionate, and evidence based.
You can't seem to give yourself a break. Your own voice is the harshest one you know. Whether it's at work or school, in your relationships, or with yourself, nothing ever seems to be "good enough" and finding fault in yourself is easy. Perhaps you cope by over-correcting, overthinking, or forgetting your own needs. Maybe you turn inward and pull away from the important relationships and responsibilities in your life. Either way, you find yourself exhausted, unhappy, and unsure of what else to do to feel better.

As a Relational Cultural Therapist (RCT), I believe the connections and disconnections faced in daily interactions profoundly impact how we experience the world.
I view therapy as a journey that both client and therapist embark on together towards increased understanding, empowerment and healing. Whether this is your first therapeutic journey or one of many, I believe you are the expert of your own experience. Your wisdom coupled with my clinical expertise, provide the foundation for a healing connection in a therapeutic setting. I work both with individuals with diagnosable symptoms (e.g. depression, anxiety, bereavement, etc.) and less concrete emotional struggles (e.g. relational difficulties, identity exploration, life transitions, body image, etc.).

Welcome! It takes energy and courage to search for a therapist who is a good fit for you. Therapy can help you feel more connected, further develop your purpose, reduce your self-doubt, and develop more effective ways of coping. At times it can be helpful to develop insight and awareness into thought patterns, stuck emotions, or relational patterns from your past, so you can work through them toward acceptance *and* action toward change. Insight alone isn't always enough, so it's important for us to work toward helping you translate that insight into the change & growth you hope for. I strive to create a non-judgmental, safe space.

We work well with clients: navigating the effects of trauma, recovering from diet culture, questioning their identity, feeling stuck creatively or professionally, & working to set relational boundaries.
You've landed here because you're searching for something: a lost spark of creativity, to been seen and heard, some help navigating a difficult relationship, a safe place to process what's happening in the world, a deeper relationship with your true self, a way to move through hurt and pain. Therapy that works goes beyond talking. Therapy that leads to change helps us learn to be in our emotions so that we can move through them. Therapy that heals often shifts something inside of us, whether or not the situation changes too.

I tailor my therapeutic approach to best fit each individual client, primarily incorporating client-centered, psychodynamic, existential, and relational theoretical orientations.
Clients in therapy with me commonly describe a plaguing feeling that there must be a better way to get through life than burdened by so much stress. My approach to wellness can be captured by the quote: "Stress in life is a given; suffering doesn't have to be." My goal in our work together is to examine the unique stressors in your life and help you develop mindful, healthy ways to live with the challenges that inevitably come up in life so that they no longer get in the way of how you want to be living.

My approaches to therapy are psychodynamic, relational and CBT. I consider myself to be an open-minded therapist, and work to support my clients by meeting them where they are at developmentally. The process of psychotherapy can seem uncertain and scary, especially for those new to mental health counseling and psychotherapy. However, I am determined to help my clients find their true purpose in life. In doing this, my clients will have a positive impact on those around them. Positive and confident energy, means real mental strength is built which will last a lifetime.

My approach is compassionate and relational.
People often come to therapy when they are seeking relief from mental or emotional pain. I believe much of this inner pain comes from the methods we learn throughout our life to protect us from troubling thoughts and emotions, as well as from the difficulties in our environment. In psychotherapy, deep and lasting healing occurs when we develop awareness into the nature of our thinking and feeling, how they are shaped by experience, and the important functions they serve in the ways we manage our lives.

Relational Therapists
If you're looking for Relational Therapy in Baltimore or for a Baltimore Relational therapist these professionals provide relational therapy and relational psychotherapy. They include Relational therapists, Relational psychologists, Relational psychotherapists and Relational counselors.

Relational life therapy in Baltimore offers strategies to combat marital dysfunction and restore harmony in relationships. Couples--those recovering from affairs, traumatic events, or a lull in passion--can find RLT helpful. To repair discord, the therapist identifies the main conflict upsetting the couples' emotional intimacy. Once the partners see how they both contribute to the problem, the therapist teaches them skills to improve the ways they relate to each other. Couples may see a change in their relationship within three to six months.
