I specialize in working with adult women struggling with past trauma, relational conflict, questions about identity, self-esteem, and anxiety.
The journey through life can hold pain and sorrow, as well as joy and celebration. Maybe your journey has been filled with pain, or maybe it has been filled with joy. Either way, my hope is that through your therapeutic experience you find safety in whatever stage of life you are experiencing. My hope is that you would have a space to engage with your story and find new perspective, deeper understanding, profound healing, and a felt sense of freedom. We were never meant to do life alone and I very much look forward to coming alongside of you.

Many people show up to therapy believing that there's something wrong with them or that they are the problem. Let me assure you that you aren't "crazy." The symptoms you struggle with are just that, symptoms of a larger, more relational problem. Whether you're struggling with your mental health, connecting with your partner(s) or family members, or job related distress; we're here to help. The therapists at KCCD will always see you as a human rather than just a diagnosis. We understand that life (and our relationships) can feel overwhelming, and we're here to support you in overcoming any obstacle.

Life can be full of joy but can also be lonely and deeply painful. Your personal life may feel unbalanced or your relationships seem stuck. I think it is very courageous to seek health and healing from hurt, internal strife or relational trauma. Relationships cause tremendous pain but can also be the source of magnificent healing. Oftentimes a comfortable, inviting space where you can safely explore who you are at your core is just what you need to begin flourishing and thriving. That same space can be precisely the respite your relationships need.

I strongly aspire to help women of all ages walk in true freedom with Christ from toxic thought patterns, unhealthy relational attachments, unnerving life transitions, and addictive behavioral habits.
The thoughts won’t stop, and the heaviness on your chest is a constant burden. All the while, it seems like loneliness and striving for an unreachable perfection have become your closest companions. The world starts painting a picture of what we “should” be at a young age. These standards are an ever-changing bullseye we anxiously strive to meet while carrying immense disappointment when unachieved. Ever been there? Me too. Maybe that’s where you find yourself today, and if so, I hope you continue reading.

The methods I use are relational approach and evidence based which have proven results for my clients.
Do you ever look around yourself and wonder how in the world you got to this point? Everyone has problems, but it's particularly messy from where you stand. Trying to look past the issues doesn't have the same charm anymore. You are apprehensive to ask for help, but too exhausted to navigate it alone anymore. The good news is I help individuals and couples just like you who want things to change. Whether you are wanting to heal relationships, navigating personal trauma, dealing with infidelity, struggling with personal identity, or facing a life transition, therapy is a great place to start.

You should not have to struggle to understand your thoughts, emotions, or relational patterns alone.
It’s natural to wonder if and how change is possible, especially when feeling confused, uncertain, and, oftentimes, alone. Chances are that you have already tried many things to help yourself and want to know how therapy can help you find what you are seeking.

Relational Therapists

How does relational therapy work?

Relational therapy was developed by psychologist Jean Miller, whose ideas stressed that having strong connections with others encourages better health and well-being when compared with a lonely existence. Conversely, poor interpersonal relationships do not foster growth and learning. Relational therapy also encourages trust in others and patience with others, along with better communication and less conflict.

Is relational therapy evidence-based?

Relational therapy is not well-studied, and it may not be as effective in treating certain mental health conditions when compared with evidence-based treatments like cognitive behavioral or acceptance and commitment therapy. However, relational therapy uses techniques found in cognitive behavioral therapy as well as psychodynamic therapy, which are both well-studied with empirical research.

How long are people typically in relational therapy?

Clients may see improvement after a few weeks or months of therapy. Like cognitive behavioral therapy, relational therapy can reduce symptoms within 10 to 20 weeks, at 45 to 50 minutes once a week. But like any type of therapy, improvement depends on the person and the severity of the problem.

Does relational therapy work?

While no therapy type will work for everyone, some evidence suggests that this therapy can be effective. Relational therapy can help a person manage problematic relationships as well as the mental health conditions that accompany difficult relationships like depression or anxiety. This therapy type may offer benefits that are hard to measure but can be just as valuable—including feelings of higher self-worth or healthier connections with others.
