I offer a positive, cognitive behavioral approach to help my clients realize their dreams, reach their goals and maintain success. I work with individuals, families and children. Most major insurance groups are accepted, and Skype sessions are available.

Personally, I've been a couples therapy client myself, the frustration and longing for better is real! The map towards relational health is here, and I can show you the way because I walk it myself.
"We keep arguing over the same things", "We never get along", "Is our relationship worth saving?" Research proven techniques help you get your relationship out of the ditch, while upping the fun and fulfillment factor. "You're a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, do you see individuals?" Yes! My training includes hearing what's shaped you thus far in your life, as what is triggering you now may be linked to an earlier experience. This helps focus on the real issue, not only symptoms. "Does that make therapy a super long process?" Likely not...an initial session with me includes setting goals and forming plans for reaching them.

Anxiety and depression are my specialty areas, and I also have significant experience with addiction, ADHD, anger management, borderline personality disorder, codependency, LGBTQ+ issues, phase of life issues, relational issues, etc.
Hi there! I'm Brooke, and I'm here to help you to unpack all the emotional baggage that your family left for you handle all on your own. My goal as your therapist is to allow you the space that you need to process the issues that you have experienced throughout your life. I hope to create a warm and safe therapeutic environment where you will feel heard, where you will have the courage to share the things that have happened to you, and to help carry the weight of the things that have taken up space in your relationship with yourself and your relationships with others.

I have experience working with relational issues, anxiety, depression, anger, sexual trauma, substance use and more.
Making a change is scary, but having someone who will walk with you through that change makes it more bearable. If you feel lost, bored or stuck in your current relationship, find yourself comparing your relationship to others and wishing you could have what they have, or wonder why you don’t have a more fulfilling sex life, that’s okay! You are allowed to have these very real feelings, questions and struggles, and there is help available for you. If you meet me with openness and a commitment to make a change, I will meet you with curiosity, authenticity and accountability.

My focus is on relational counseling using that as a basis to employ other modalities as necessary.
Are your life and relationships meeting your expectations? Do you struggle at times to understand why part of your life is not "working", leaving you too stressed, frustrated, and possibly resentful? Change in our lives begins by talking about it. Everyone struggles at some point in their life. Often we just need to express ourselves to someone who is focused on listening to our story and can acknowledge our feelings. Sometimes we need more. Regardless of your current situation, therapy can help you begin that journey. Improve your quality of life and relationships, and find joy in living again.

Self-love and relational issues, with all ages, are my passion! Change is possible for your situation, even if the other person is not willing to come to counseling! Together, you and I will discover the best tools and resources needed to live life to the fullest and to grow healthy relationships.
Are there any deep disappointments lingering within you? Do you feel alone, unlovable or misunderstood? Are you struggling with your child, spouse or any other relationship? Life issues and disappointments are heavy burdens to bear alone. Thoughts and feelings of unworthiness and/or rejection were never meant for you. And, it takes a village to grow a family. These life-matters were meant to be lived with others, disappointments were meant to be shared, and not good enough feelings were meant to be challenged. Would you consider help? Would you let me be that person for you, your child or adolescent in this season?

I am trained in a relational model of counseling that integrates various counseling theories.
It takes courage to address the loneliness, heartache, fear and confusion we face as humans. I offer space for a person to untangle their hurt and confusion and address their messy emotions. I believe our stories matter. Our life experiences shape us. No one escapes suffering. Life is hard. Everyone has experienced a broken heart and shattered dreams. Experiences of abuse, rejection, and trauma contort the soul. Our soul responds to self, God and others with these contorted relational patterns that connect or sabotage relationships. Soul contortions are addressed with compassion and respect as we journey towards restoration.

Relational Therapists

How does relational therapy work?

Relational therapy was developed by psychologist Jean Miller, whose ideas stressed that having strong connections with others encourages better health and well-being when compared with a lonely existence. Conversely, poor interpersonal relationships do not foster growth and learning. Relational therapy also encourages trust in others and patience with others, along with better communication and less conflict.

Is relational therapy evidence-based?

Relational therapy is not well-studied, and it may not be as effective in treating certain mental health conditions when compared with evidence-based treatments like cognitive behavioral or acceptance and commitment therapy. However, relational therapy uses techniques found in cognitive behavioral therapy as well as psychodynamic therapy, which are both well-studied with empirical research.

How long are people typically in relational therapy?

Clients may see improvement after a few weeks or months of therapy. Like cognitive behavioral therapy, relational therapy can reduce symptoms within 10 to 20 weeks, at 45 to 50 minutes once a week. But like any type of therapy, improvement depends on the person and the severity of the problem.

Does relational therapy work?

While no therapy type will work for everyone, some evidence suggests that this therapy can be effective. Relational therapy can help a person manage problematic relationships as well as the mental health conditions that accompany difficult relationships like depression or anxiety. This therapy type may offer benefits that are hard to measure but can be just as valuable—including feelings of higher self-worth or healthier connections with others.
