You might feel overwhelmed now, but that doesn't have to last. Change can happen with a safe person to talk with, who brings insight, and evidence-based skills-training that helps create new experiences. None of us are perfect, but we can increase the joy and meaning in our lives when we find the right support and skills to reach our goals. How to choose? I know there are so many great therapists here because as a professor I have trained many of them. My therapy and research specialties are depression, anxiety, chronic pain, parenting, and couples.
This is what I have to offer: 1) more experience than most, beginning with two PhD’s in psychology (research and clinical), 2) years of successfully treating a wide range of individuals, 3) wisdom that comes from training other therapists , 4) advantage of being up to date with the latest findings as a professor who is an active researcher and teacher.
I work from proven perspectives to meet your needs. I am happy to do a free 30-minute phone or in-person initial consultation. My office is <10 minutes from two Metro stops, with plenty parking options especially the garage under Crate and Barrel. Email is preferred and if you are one of my old students, email me to catch up!
