I am experienced working with anxiety, depression, PTSD, relational problems, bipolar, and grief.
I strongly believe that reaching out for support is one of the bravest acts a person can do for themselves. All of us at times in our lives need someone to understand, care, and support us in taking those first steps towards healing and well-being. I use a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to therapy, while providing a warm space to support your needs and concerns.

From a culturally-informed, relational framework, I provide such therapies as CBT, CBT-Insomnia, CPT for PTSD, EMDR, and DBT.
Are you an "overthinker" or overachiever wanting to work through harsh attitudes you hold about yourself? Are you hoping to resolve pain from the past? Perhaps you need relief from intense worry, anxiety, PTSD/complex trauma, overwhelming emotions, depression, insomnia, or nightmares. Or you might be seeking to grow as a person and needing to talk through the complexities of your most important relationships with someone trained to ask just the right questions. If these are the kinds of issues you’re grappling with now, therapy is a wonderful place to start, and one of the most meaningful investments you can make in yourself.

Alongside the general anxiety & depression issues that bring many to therapy, I’m passionate about supporting those experiencing loss. Whether grappling with the end of a relationship, the passing of a loved one, or the upheaval of a job loss; loss affects us all deeply. Often accompanying these losses is a sense of identity dissolution, which can be disorienting yet holds potential for profound personal growth. My therapeutic approach to relational loss is rooted in a trauma-informed lens, informed by my extensive exploration of grief.

My approach is relational, genuine, and empathetic.
Do you feel that something is holding you back? That your best Self awaits? When life presents challenges we can get stuck in emotional ruts and self-defeating thought patterns. Though we put our best foot forward, our relationships can falter, work feels insurmountable, or anxiety becomes overwhelming. You do not need to take this on alone. I will support you to grow into the version of yourself that has the capacity to understand what's holding you back, work through those barriers. We will find ways to be generative and psychologically flexible to give you the confidence to adventure on your path.

I practice from a relational frame and use the therapeutic relationship as a vehicle for change.
Many of us feel disconnected from ourselves and experience symptoms that constrict our lives and relationships. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe environment where people can comfortably explore their longstanding, repetitive patterns, work through past trauma, integrate previously disowned parts of self, and discover their inner strengths. Using a holistic and integrative approach grounded in psychodynamic theory, I am committed to helping my clients gain insight and self-awareness and feel empowered to alter their present experiences by making intentional decisions that align with their values.

My approach to therapy integrates principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Relational Theory.
When faced with life’s inevitable stressors, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Emotional pain is an unavoidable part of our human experience, but suffering does not have to be. You may be feeling stuck, frustrated, depressed, or anxious, and finding yourself off course from the life you hope to be living. I’m glad you are reaching out, because therapy can help.

Relational Therapists

How does relational therapy work?

Relational therapy was developed by psychologist Jean Miller, whose ideas stressed that having strong connections with others encourages better health and well-being when compared with a lonely existence. Conversely, poor interpersonal relationships do not foster growth and learning. Relational therapy also encourages trust in others and patience with others, along with better communication and less conflict.

Is relational therapy evidence-based?

Relational therapy is not well-studied, and it may not be as effective in treating certain mental health conditions when compared with evidence-based treatments like cognitive behavioral or acceptance and commitment therapy. However, relational therapy uses techniques found in cognitive behavioral therapy as well as psychodynamic therapy, which are both well-studied with empirical research.

How long are people typically in relational therapy?

Clients may see improvement after a few weeks or months of therapy. Like cognitive behavioral therapy, relational therapy can reduce symptoms within 10 to 20 weeks, at 45 to 50 minutes once a week. But like any type of therapy, improvement depends on the person and the severity of the problem.

Does relational therapy work?

While no therapy type will work for everyone, some evidence suggests that this therapy can be effective. Relational therapy can help a person manage problematic relationships as well as the mental health conditions that accompany difficult relationships like depression or anxiety. This therapy type may offer benefits that are hard to measure but can be just as valuable—including feelings of higher self-worth or healthier connections with others.
