Announcement icon All of my client sessions are being conducted using Zoom video conferencing. I have used Zoom for a year and find it effective and easy.
Our past presents itself in the present moment. Whether it is anxiety, panic, pain, addictions, trauma, loss or grief - we explore together what gets in the way of living a life worth living. I integrate Somatic Experiencing, NARM, EMDR, Voice Dialogue, and mindfulness practices into a multidimensional approach to discover how to help you realize a satisfying life, the life you want to live.
I am an Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #122513) and certified in Somatic Experiencing, the use of touch for trauma, NARM, and am Level 2 PACT Couple therapist. My work is relational, somatic oriented, mindfulness based, present time oriented, non-pathologizing, and psychodynamically informed.
Happiness and the elimination of suffering are the primary motivators for change and emotional growth. It's not what you do, it is how you feel about it that is most important. Life is short so we should have the opportunity to live it fully.

Michael Shiffman's Groups

Mindfulness and Anxiety Group - via Zoom

The groups I offer are open to all adults and I solicit the widest diversity. I currently offer three groups: one for licensed psychotherapists, one for pre-licensed therapists, and one for the general public. The groups for psychotherapists are process oriented psychotherapy groups. The groups offered to the public are hybrid groups that integrate mindfulness and somatic interventions within the context of interpersonal process. All of these groups support personal exploration and a deeper understanding of communication styles and how they affect others. My orientation is present-time and mindfulness oriented, somatic and psychodynamically informed, and emphasizes
