I am an easy-going person who uses a lot of humor in session. I have a big dog in my office most of the time, who is a trained and certified therapy dog. My ideal client is someone who is motivated to improve their life and is in it for the long haul. A lot of my clients are struggling to figure out who they are or why they're struggling so much and I encourage people to give themselves permission to not have it all figured out. I try my best to make therapy enjoyable but don't get me wrong; you will definitely grow in the process. I have a team of therapists in my practice so regardless of what you're looking for we've got you.
I work a lot with gay and lesbian individuals as well as do a lot of work with attachment issues and trauma, from car-accidents to childhood abuse, and everything in between. I understand the struggle and the fear that comes along with trying to love yourself and to set boundaries, and I help clients find and feel that love. We also see couples and families.
I work with the client to discover what works for you. I use EMDR frequently when appropriate, to help people get past trauma, and often do creative techniques such as sand tray when clients feel stuck or overwhelmed. I work from an attachment lens and borrow from other modalities as appropriate.
