My approach to therapy is primarily Cognitive Behavioral. Strong evidence supports the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for helping individuals with a wide range of problems, including Depression, Anxiety and ADHD. I also incorporate the use of other therapeutic approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment, Relational, Interpersonal and Psychodynamic Therapy. My initial goal is to create a safe therapeutic environment. I work with clients to reach an agreement on the goals. As therapy proceeds, we will evaluate progress toward those goals and work together to make therapy as effective for you as possible.

By deepening into the therapeutic process, we will work to liberate from experiences of fear and avoidance, and move towards personal and relational health.
"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I change." (Carl Rogers) I am interested in blending the evidenced-based practices of Western psychotherapy with the wisdom and compassion of Eastern psychology. No matter the issue at hand, therapy first aims at bringing more openness, clarity, and non-judgement to the parts of ourselves that cause fear and trepidation. When we shine light into our shadow, we often find deeper meaning and understanding of ourselves and the world around us. From this space of fearlessness, we can begin to do the work to heal and make profound change in our life.

I am a Colorado-based, licensed doctoral level clinical psychologist passionate about treating depression and anxiety, especially in those struggling with belonging and identity. As a neurodivergent individual, I specialize in working with ADHD and autism clients, as well as supporting “LGBTQ+” folk, parents and individuals who are coping with medical issues. Despite our differences we all share the challenge of living authentically and being able to thrive in a society that was not designed with our wiring in mind.

Life can be daunting, overwhelming and sometimes difficult to cope with. Sometimes, it can feel like we're just existing rather than loving the life we live. Maybe you've had past experiences that have led to substance use, anxiety, depression, grief, shame or feelings of loneliness. Maybe you've struggled to see a way out, or feel constantly reminded of a history you'd like to forget. Maybe you've tried to heal but keep finding yourself in the same patterns, same feelings, same thoughts. Or maybe you haven't known where to even start. You're not alone in any of this, and you don't have to begin your journey to healing alone.

It is my belief that we come into this world beautiful, whole and have gifts to bring to our lives, with a personhood uniquely our own. Along the way we may be knocked off center, becoming clouded in our way of being. We may lose sight of who we are, what we are capable of and how to navigate the waters of our lives. My intention is to support you in your process of finding your inner resources, your clarity in your present path, and strengthening who you are in your current life situations. I bring a warm, empathic, and intuitive approach to the process of moving through changes, challenges or transformations.

We all face difficult moments that can test our strength and leave a deep impression on us. These experiences can make us feel overwhelmed and weighed down, alone, and It can be tough to know where to turn for help, especially when we're dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship challenges. I understand that the process of seeking therapy can be daunting and overwhelming. I aim to create a collaborative and empowering therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, validated, and supported.

I'm a licensed psychologist with over a decade of experience. I've found that many of us are talented and have potential, but anxiety, uncertainty, depression, or life circumstances prevent us from leading productive and fulfilling careers. I've worked with hundreds of people to help them find a career that suits their interests, values, and skills--whether preparing for college, adjusting to parenthood, or making a mid-life career transition. Because I'm a psychologist, I do more than coach: I can help identify any root causes that keep you "stuck," treat these issues, and help you to thrive.

Relational Therapists

How does relational therapy work?

Relational therapy was developed by psychologist Jean Miller, whose ideas stressed that having strong connections with others encourages better health and well-being when compared with a lonely existence. Conversely, poor interpersonal relationships do not foster growth and learning. Relational therapy also encourages trust in others and patience with others, along with better communication and less conflict.

Is relational therapy evidence-based?

Relational therapy is not well-studied, and it may not be as effective in treating certain mental health conditions when compared with evidence-based treatments like cognitive behavioral or acceptance and commitment therapy. However, relational therapy uses techniques found in cognitive behavioral therapy as well as psychodynamic therapy, which are both well-studied with empirical research.

How long are people typically in relational therapy?

Clients may see improvement after a few weeks or months of therapy. Like cognitive behavioral therapy, relational therapy can reduce symptoms within 10 to 20 weeks, at 45 to 50 minutes once a week. But like any type of therapy, improvement depends on the person and the severity of the problem.

Does relational therapy work?

While no therapy type will work for everyone, some evidence suggests that this therapy can be effective. Relational therapy can help a person manage problematic relationships as well as the mental health conditions that accompany difficult relationships like depression or anxiety. This therapy type may offer benefits that are hard to measure but can be just as valuable—including feelings of higher self-worth or healthier connections with others.
