People who reach out when the going is tough have my deepest respect. I love my work and feel privileged to be present with people during their significant life transitions. I work with people to discover what they are doing right and expand on those things, rather than focusing on problems or what an individual may have done "wrong". I work to help a person "live" again rather than continue the pattern of their chronic depression or anxiety. A client who elects to go through the process of therapy is a person of courage who is committed to change.
I am trained "Family Systems Therapy", Marital Tharapy, and "Brief Therapy", which is solution focused based on one single statement of problem. I am trained in EMDR. I work with Pain Management Physicians. Finally, I am committed to the clarity that the Expressive Arts brings to an individual who is determined to truly LIVE!
Most of our therapists at Intemrission Therapies, in addition to being licensed as professional therapists in the State of Illinois, are also involved in the Arts. We as a practice, and myself as a Music Therapist, see the Arts as the ultimate modality for healing for human beings.
