I look forward to co-creating a space that fosters relational safety with accountability and invites compassionate curiosity that honors the depth & breadth of who you are (becoming).
I am a second generation Korean-American born and raised on the unceded ancestral lands of the Dxʷdəwʔabš (Duwamish Tribe) and now live as a guest upon Mni Sóta Maḳoce, Dakota homeland. My relational approach is built upon 15+ years working with and alongside individuals, families and communities to nurture growth as an educator, coach, trainer and leader. Becoming a parent in 2014 both broke and broke me open, ushering intergenerational healing and cultural reclamation that continues today. A lifelong learner, I continue to journey along a path towards “Becoming a Good Ancestor” (credit: Layla Saad).

Relational conflict is 100% natural, and unhelpful habits we've picked up along the way frequently get in the way of our ability to talk about these conflicts in a respectful and healthy way.
Turning towards any source of conflict takes a great deal of strength and courage. The fact that you're here, reading my profile, is an indicator you're considering facing your source of conflict. You might be struggling with how to communicate. You and your partner may be having difficulties sharing with each other your needs for closeness, appreciation, and connection. You might even find yourselves having the same arguments nearly every day about things like life changes, household responsibilities, or parenting disagreements.

I work for a reduced fee, in lieu of insurance payment. This is an opportunity to do Jungian Analysis at an affordable cost. I appreciate work with individuals that have done therapy, gained psychological understanding, and would like to go futher into depth psychology.

Your experience is valid whether it be sadness, anxiety/worry, lack of self-trust, substance use/misuse, low motivation, a sense of disconnect from yourself or others, or difficulty adjusting. You may feel like you are moving through life without purpose or meaning, like your brain is on autopilot reacting to the world instead of responding mindfully. As a therapist, I help people tap into their inner healing systems in order to understand and welcome all parts of themselves. My goal is to help you feel empowered in approaching life and your relationships with greater clarity, ease, calm, creativity, and confidence.

I am a liberation-focused, relational-cultural therapist that incorporates somatics, IFS, & play therapy concepts in my work with clients of all ages.
I offer therapy for people looking for compassion, accountability, & even humor in their therapy journey. Leaning into my own life experiences, I aim to be radically curious about your unique perspectives and adaptations to life’s challenges. Through conversation we will examine patterns, explore values, clarify emotions, and sit with the complexity and duality within each person and the world around us. I welcome open conversations about race, gender, class, power, & sexuality. I invite exploration of how history, systems, and forces like current events & pop culture shape your life and inform your mental health & relationships.

Relational Therapists

How does relational therapy work?

Relational therapy was developed by psychologist Jean Miller, whose ideas stressed that having strong connections with others encourages better health and well-being when compared with a lonely existence. Conversely, poor interpersonal relationships do not foster growth and learning. Relational therapy also encourages trust in others and patience with others, along with better communication and less conflict.

Is relational therapy evidence-based?

Relational therapy is not well-studied, and it may not be as effective in treating certain mental health conditions when compared with evidence-based treatments like cognitive behavioral or acceptance and commitment therapy. However, relational therapy uses techniques found in cognitive behavioral therapy as well as psychodynamic therapy, which are both well-studied with empirical research.

How long are people typically in relational therapy?

Clients may see improvement after a few weeks or months of therapy. Like cognitive behavioral therapy, relational therapy can reduce symptoms within 10 to 20 weeks, at 45 to 50 minutes once a week. But like any type of therapy, improvement depends on the person and the severity of the problem.

Does relational therapy work?

While no therapy type will work for everyone, some evidence suggests that this therapy can be effective. Relational therapy can help a person manage problematic relationships as well as the mental health conditions that accompany difficult relationships like depression or anxiety. This therapy type may offer benefits that are hard to measure but can be just as valuable—including feelings of higher self-worth or healthier connections with others.
