My style is relational and process oriented.
Do others tell you that you are too hard on yourself? Or perhaps you notice that you get stuck in a loop of worries? I am a therapist who works with adults experiencing: anxiety, panic attacks, perfectionism, social anxieties, life transitions, overwhelm, self-doubt, high sensitivity, neurodivergence (such as ADHD and OCD) , and the impact of trauma.

Because I believe we grow and learn throughout our life, I delight in working with all people. I see therapy as a supportive environment created for the purpose of encouraging one another in times of need, as well as joy. I have specialized experience working with children and families, empowering each during tough transitions such as toddlerhood and adolescence, while collaborating during unexpected and challenging issues like ADHD, anxiety, depression, abuse, trauma and more. I utilize play, narrative, feminist, and mindfulness therapies to encourage hope and develop authentic connections with each person I see.

It's our reality that human beings struggle at times along the road of life. I have had the opportunity to work with individuals, couples and families get over and through these life obstacles. I have been honored and amazed to witness people conquer fears, addictions and harmful experiences that have left them tired and gasping on that road, and once again pick themselves up and journey onwards.

You're feeling stuck in a pattern that isn't working anymore, struggling at work or in your relationships, having difficulty reaching a meaningful goal, or are working to find direction or purpose in your life. After a series of challenges, you may notice that your old coping strategies are not working in the ways you expect, and you are interested in a new perspective and tools. My clients seek and discover new understanding of themselves, their emotional reactions, and their values through the process of therapy.

I am a liberation-focused, relational-cultural therapist that incorporates somatics, IFS, & play therapy concepts in my work with clients of all ages.
I offer therapy for people looking for compassion, accountability, & even humor in their therapy journey. Leaning into my own life experiences, I aim to be radically curious about your unique perspectives and adaptations to life’s challenges. Through conversation we will examine patterns, explore values, clarify emotions, and sit with the complexity and duality within each person and the world around us. I welcome open conversations about race, gender, class, power, & sexuality. I invite exploration of how history, systems, and forces like current events & pop culture shape your life and inform your mental health & relationships.

Relational Therapists

How does relational therapy work?

Relational therapy was developed by psychologist Jean Miller, whose ideas stressed that having strong connections with others encourages better health and well-being when compared with a lonely existence. Conversely, poor interpersonal relationships do not foster growth and learning. Relational therapy also encourages trust in others and patience with others, along with better communication and less conflict.

Is relational therapy evidence-based?

Relational therapy is not well-studied, and it may not be as effective in treating certain mental health conditions when compared with evidence-based treatments like cognitive behavioral or acceptance and commitment therapy. However, relational therapy uses techniques found in cognitive behavioral therapy as well as psychodynamic therapy, which are both well-studied with empirical research.

How long are people typically in relational therapy?

Clients may see improvement after a few weeks or months of therapy. Like cognitive behavioral therapy, relational therapy can reduce symptoms within 10 to 20 weeks, at 45 to 50 minutes once a week. But like any type of therapy, improvement depends on the person and the severity of the problem.

Does relational therapy work?

While no therapy type will work for everyone, some evidence suggests that this therapy can be effective. Relational therapy can help a person manage problematic relationships as well as the mental health conditions that accompany difficult relationships like depression or anxiety. This therapy type may offer benefits that are hard to measure but can be just as valuable—including feelings of higher self-worth or healthier connections with others.
