As a Licensed Social Worker, I will work alongside you to define and work towards your goals. I approach all clients from a strengths based perspective, which has been shaped around the philosophy that people are not fundamentally fragile. We are not cut down by hardships and tribulations, rather, we may be strengthened through thoughtful and practiced responses to stressors and pain. I will help clients use these principles to promote their strengths and to improve confidence and functioning. Although I have experience with a variety of populations, I am especially versed in grief work.
I provide emotional support to clients and families undergoing life transitions brought on by age, death, illness, trauma, and changes in family structure, among others. I have practiced behavioral management and therapeutic interventions such as CBT, DBT, ACT, Structural Family Therapy, MBCT.
I am especially passionate about working with older adults, elders, and people with chronic mental illness, given my experience and skills in this domain. I feel that this group is often the most vulnerable and overlooked, and also that these groups have an incredible amount of insight and creativity to offer.
