I specialize in working with adults trying to cope with the outcome of a difficult or abusive childhood. Therapy progresses through stages at a pace that is tailored to each person’s individual needs. The focus is on helping clients find a way out of the depression, anxiety, and fear toward a place of safety and greater peace of mind. In addition to this specialty, I provide counseling for adults with general mental health concerns.
I am also a faculty instructor with the Center for Advanced Studies in Trauma and Dissociation, a comprehensive postgraduate training program for therapists.
Among the possible changes with in-depth therapy: Emotional balance — whether you typically feel too little emotion or too much; greater self-awareness and understanding of others; an increased capacity for intimacy; and a belief in yourself — including your talents, abilities, inherent self-worth, and right to exist in the world.
