Michael Scott from The Office once said "Society teaches us that having feelings and crying is bad and wrong. Well, that's baloney, because grief isn't wrong. There's such a thing as good grief. Just ask Charlie Brown." As a therapist, I would agree with Michael and add that all feelings are right and good and meaningful but sometimes we can get stuck in negative thought patterns, relationship conflicts, painful feelings or avoidance strategies. We sometimes need help to create and develop new tools for handling those difficult thoughts or situations.
As a therapist, I strive to meet my client's needs by collaborating with each individual and developing a customized plan to help them reach their goals. Techniques that I utilize include Brainspotting, mindfulness, meditation, somatic exercises, as well as creative outlets such as literature, art, writing, podcasts, music and more.
I believe it is important to find the root of our issues and work to get healing at the deepest level and not just lay a bandage on top of the metaphorical infected wound. I want to give you the resources, tools and education to help you understand why you are experiencing the issues you are facing and work with you to create absolute and lasting change.
