Hi there, I'm Rebecca McWhorter, LCSW has experience with all age groups within many multicultural settings. I start with where the patient is should they be suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, and/or grief. My practice focus in on patient care. Patients typically enter therapy due to something that is having a negative impact on their quality of life. I assist them in identifying the root causes or behavior that are preventing them from living their best life. I utilize many different approaches to healing. I prefer to letting the patient vocalize their needs rather than tailor a patient to a plan.
I started out by working with at risk youth just before college. I continued my out reach to struggling groups and individuals that led me to Social Work. Telehealth has allowed me to expand my practice into many new areas with new challenges that keeps me driven to do this work.
My communication style Depends on where the patient is in their recovery. If folks want to do intense guided therapy we can go that route. If they respond better to a solution focused session we can start there. Basically I let the patient dictate the tempo of their recovery.
