I have 10+ years experience working with parents of children/teens with moderate to severe problem behaviors. I can work with parents to create a behavioral approach to address some of the following behaviors: self-injury, aggression, elopement, avoidance of non-preferred activities (ie. school, homework, extracurricular activities, anxiety-related avoidance (ie. school activities with peers, unexpected changes in schedule, disrespectful communication/interactions, social difficulties, sleep difficulties, problems in school. Additionally, I have years experience advocating and assisting parents in addressing problems at school.
I have specialized training in neurodiversity, behavior disorders and social difficulties. My research is in social skills interventions for children with Autism and Behavior Disorders. I have worked with many parents and teachers of children with behavioral difficulties in the school and home setting.
I have my PhD in Special Education, Autism, and Behavior Analysis. I am a licensed behavior analysts, an Associate Professor of Practice and Director of the Applied Behavior Analysis program at the University of Arizona. I am a mother of eight children and understand the difficulties of raising children with ASD, Anxiety, and ADHD.
