I am passionate about helping individuals and families reach their unique, personal goals. I believe a client grows best when there is a positive therapeutic relationship built in a safe and non-judgmental atmosphere. Those who want to build interpersonal insight, increase self-awareness, and are willing to implement new skills will benefit most from therapy. The ability to visualize their desired outcome is an important part of the therapeutic journey for clients and is key in the redevelopment of their personal identity.
I use a variety of approaches and methodologies to meet the needs of clients and the chosen approach is rooted in the client's level of comfort. I have extensive experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Systems Therapy, Structural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy to coach the client to their desired result.
I earned a BA from the University of Arkansas and a MA in Marital and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego. I have 14 years experience as a therapist in a non-profit counseling center and private practice setting and as an emergency mental health evaluator in hospitals. I have 12 years experience as a special education teacher and ARD facilitator.
