I am a dually licensed clinician and able to treat both substance use disorders and mental health issues. I worked as a counselor/Clinical Supervisor of a Methadone Clinic for 10 years, inpatient care for 3 years, and outpatient services for 11 years. I have a variety of experience working with addiction, depression, anxiety/panic, grief, loss, ADHD, LGBTQ community, couples, women’s issues, and life transitions. My style of counseling is an integrated approach as I believe that every person has the ability to heal and make a positive change. My agency works with clients of all ages to define their goals for therapy. We work collaboratively with physicians, social workers, teachers etc., to implement the most effective treatment possible. We have clinicians with a wide variety of backgrounds, experience, and areas of expertise, including treatment for adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, recovery from trauma, substance abuse, parenting, relationship issues and child/teen issues. We offer psychological testing. We are partnered with ABC to provide Psychiatry services. Our goal is to help people heal and find their best path forward.

Yo! I’m Payton, I’m an openly queer + nonbinary human and my pronoun are they/she! I think that humans are the coolest. My philosophy as an Identity Doula + Healing Practitioner takes into consideration that every human and every situation is different, thus unique tools and approaches are required for unique people and things. Sessions with me will go beyond standard talk therapy, as it is my personal and professional opinion that humans often heal with art, movement, visuals, embodiment, activities, and music better than they do with standard talk therapy alone. Anxiety is a b!tch - the heart racing, chest tightening, skin crawling, keeps you up all night kind. If you grew up in an emotionally or physically unsafe environment, been in inconsistent and unstable relationships, and live on edge with the fear of never reaching enoughness, then you get it. You find yourself being on guard, overachieving, people pleasing, and quieting your voice as a means to survive with the least amount of damage. You minimize your experiences and often say “I’m fine” when really you are living in your own personal hell and trauma is the prison keeper.

For 24 years I have been working as a social worker, and for the past 10+ years offering therapy. I have worked with individuals, couples and groups with clients in the age range of 6 - 86. Currently, I work with adults/individuals.

For therapy to be successful, patients must be committed, insightful, and engaged in the process. I strive to make a genuine connection with my patients because I believe people do well when they feel a connection with their therapist. That’s more important than any counseling approach we can use.
