I work with children, adults, and families to focus on healing. I enjoy working with all ages, and specialize in working with children (and their caregivers) and individuals with an abuse history. In therapy, we will utilize your strengths and interests, such as art or play for children, to individualize treatment!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Paris, Texas with 10 years of experience practicing. I work with clients who are dealing with a wide range of concerns including Grief, Crisis Intervention, Trauma & Serious Illness, PTSD, Depression, Anxiety/Panic, Schizophrenia, OCD, Bipolar Disorder, Personality Disorders, family of origin concerns & exploration, & many other psychological & behavioral challenges.

I specialize in working with children and adolescents who are struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, PTSD and ADHD. I also specialize in working with children who have been diagnosed with Autism. Children under the age of 18 often struggle in terms of building strong relationships with family members and peers of their age. Childhood through adolescence can be a challenging time, due to this, children often need additional guidance, as well as someone they can trust/ build rapport with.

I provide a caring environment to help you identify & explore issues that get in the way of a more rewarding life. I will help you learn what is causing you feel this way, & help you identify & change what is throwing life your off track. Having been born and raised in Sulphur Springs as well as living in this town most of my adult life, I feel that I understand and can relate to the needs of those in this area. I am also able to draw from my 19 years of counseling experience in working with local families in my practice.

My goal for the counseling relationship is that you, the client, and I, the counselor, will develop trust with one another, work as a team to define and explore present problem situations, develop future goals for an improved life, and work toward those goals. While my counseling philosophies are informed by a biblical worldview, I will in no way pressure or require you to uphold my morals, values, or religious beliefs. As the client I respect your value/belief system and will ask that you inform how that is incorporated into counseling.

Since 1999, I've predominantly worked with children from ages 4 through 19 and parents. Young people often don't understand their feelings, know how to express them appropriately or feel as if no one is listening. It's not long before arguments, disrespect, low-grades, disobedience, and fights occur, which negatively impacts all involved.
