My name is Kevin Larry. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Master's Addiction Counselor with over 25 years of experience working with individuals, families, couples, and groups. I have given over 800 lectures on the subjects of divorce, parenting, transgender, family play therapy, supervision, learning disabilities, grief, ADHD, play therapy, adolescence, etc. I am a registered play therapist, certified in EMDR, and provide supervision and consultation to other psychotherapists.

I was struggling to cope with a disability, depression, and anger between the ages 16 to 23. I was in a car accident in 1999 that severely damaged my spinal cord and caused me to rely on the use of a wheelchair for the rest of my life. Building a relationship with God helped me to overcome my disability, depression and anger. It also gave me what I needed to live through my daily struggles. The spiritual exercises that have helped me during my process were prayer, meditation, reading scriptures, faith building, forgiveness, gratitude, and discussing my concerns with Christian counselors.

I view counseling as a partnership between the therapist and the client. I have over 20 years of experience working with women, men and children. I started in Mississippi as a County Supervisor for a local mental health center. I then moved to Atlanta where she worked for about 16 years in public and private mental health. I am able to provide individual, family, couples and sexual abuse counseling.

There are many gifts with being a therapist, including being witness to significant, positive change. I have worked since 2005 with many individuals facing mental health challenges, difficult life transitions, and challenging relationships of all kinds. I have also had a career in the business arena holding leadership positions, so I am uniquely able to offer insight and guidance surrounding navigating work and how our lives can be both positively or negatively impacted by what we do (boundaries, communication, work/life balance, etc.).

Life certainly takes unexpected turns! How, then, do we live balanced, authentic lives in the midst of intense stress, loss, and change? My goal is to help you examine, heal, grow, and gain perspective. Like peeling back layers of an onion, therapy provides clients the opportunity to see that many life events are interconnected by family patterns, past trauma, grief and loss, boundary issues, and learned coping strategies, to name a few. Therapy also gives clients opportunities to strategically prepare for the future, explore personal values and spirituality, strengthen relationships, and clarify goals.
