Teen Group, Black + Brown Young Men
Managing Anxiety as a Young Man: A healing group for Black and Brown, young men ages 13-17. Goals: to help participants reduce symptoms of anxiety to improve their functioning at school, peer and family relationships and/or prevent self-harming. To help Teens reduce symptoms of anxiety to improve their functioning at school, peer and family relationships and/or prevent self-harming. Teens will learn and practice interventions to decrease anxiety and related symptoms. Treatment Methods: Talk Therapy, Mindfulness-CBT, and Grounding Techniques Frequency: Biweekly; 6 sessions; 45-60min.
Mental Health Peer Workshop-Cohort 2
The Mental Health Peer (MHP) Workshop is a psychoeducational workshop for persons who are not mental health professionals. The MHP Workshop’s goal is to equip you with a mental health toolkit to help support your family and community. What you will learn: •Learn common mental health diagnosis •Learn the disciplines of the mental health profession •Learn how to identify someone in need of mental health support •Learn how to support someone in a crisis •Learn calming techniques •Receive your certificate when you attend all 4 sessions
