Life is both wonderful and challenging at times. The goal is to focus on the positive when we can and to draw on our inner resources to help cope and manage during stressful times.I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over 20 years. I am a graduate of Stony Brook University and Hunter College School of Social Work. I have broad experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families in managing stress, anxiety, depression, loss, bereavement and divorce issues.
I have worked with children and families in both mental health clinics and in school settings. Understanding individuals in a family context, I focus on improving communication patterns and use cognitive behavioral techniques. I help to educate parents on the relationship between children's behavior and developmental stage, and utilize positive behavior management strategies.
I have extensive experience with school related issues. I have written and facilitate a parent program called Parenting... How can something so simple be so difficult to do? In addition to my private practice, I work as a consultant to develop and facilitate workshops for different groups on a variety of topics.
