About
I work with couples [heterosexual and same sex; married and unmarried], families, and individuals on a wide range of concerns. I encourage you to contact me if you are seeking counseling, and we can see if there is a "fit" between what you are seeking from a therapist and how I practice. My primary concern is that you feel comfortable with me so we can develop a working relationship.
My practice tends to be present centered. Our conversations will focus on what is currently going on in your life, how your problems are impacting you, and how they are being maintained. We may also talk about the past as what has happened may affect your current behavior and feelings. From there, we will develop a plan of action tailored to your needs.
On the bottom of my business card is the following: "Creating a safe space for growth." This statement is not just catch phrase but exemplifies how I practice as a therapist. I try to create the sense of safety by talking "with" you and not "at" you. In short, I practice collaboratively.
