I know I'm biased, but I think everyone can benefit from therapy. Although many people wish to reduce unwanted symptoms, therapy is also helpful in gaining a deeper, broader and freer understanding of who we are. That's why I named my business "Awake." The point of life is to feel alive. I believe therapy can help awaken those parts that are "dead" within us. I work primarily with adults and adolescents.
Although I trained mostly in post-graduate studies with psychodynamic-oriented perspectives, I take a more eclectic approach. I incorporate mindfulness based treatments and cognitive restructuring (C.B.T.) where applicable. Besides experience in treating mood disorders, I have particular experience in addictions treatment, work/life balance and couples therapy.
Trust is everything. I have been a therapist since 2005 and continue to learn the importance of the therapeutic connection towards deep and lasting change.
