Do you find yourself feeling unstable or broken, no matter what you do? You've tried toughing it out, burying your feelings, taking medications, going to therapy. None of it has been enough, and you're afraid you'll never feel better. You're tired of getting triggered, living through the same ups and downs over and over again, and feeling bad about yourself all the time. I want you to know that your life can be better; your life can be good. You don't have to keep suffering.
I base my work as a therapist around the theory that most mental health challenges are caused by some kind of trauma. I don’t believe anything is wrong with you; I believe something bad happened to you, and you made the best of it that you could. I use EMDR, DBT, and parts work to help people find their happiness -and- feel that they deserve it.
I bring warmth and humor to therapy. I incorporate information about things like the biological causes of trauma and how people adapt in painful or frightening situations; anything that will lessen the shame and sense of loneliness that often follows trauma. We work at a pace that is right for you, to help you reach your goals.
