About
We all want to belong. We want to feel capable in our lives and relationships - able to handle transitions, disruptions or disappointments. Each of us want the tools to effectively communicate what is going on inside, and have our loved ones hear and respond. We want connection - that feeling of being safe and secure. Sometimes our best efforts at connection get blocked by distress, anxiety, depression or trauma. Counseling can be a place to make sense of your experiences, and learn new ways of connecting with yourself and others, creating that security we all deserve.
I use emotionally focused and attachment based therapy to help you look at patterns of interaction, and for what may be blocking the healing and security that come from meaningful relationships. I love working with individuals, families, young adults, parenting issues and couples.
I am constantly blown away by how courageous people are - to live, to deal with pain, to ask for connection. We are all so complex and it is an honor every time someone shares another part of themselves with me. (I also love to use music, art, and photography as ways of expression.)
