I provide psychoanalysis and psychotherapy, meeting with patients one to four times per week to address both conscious and unconscious conflicts. My work focuses particularly on relational struggles and depression and anxiety rooted in experiences from both the present and the past. I sub-specialize in loss and grief, multicultural concerns, and the psychological impact of race and race relations. My clinical and theoretical work includes the development of the concept societal racial introjects, introduced in a 2024 paper, which examines how racialized experiences are taken in and lived psychologically.
I completed my graduate training in Clinical Social Work at the University of Chicago. I later trained as a psychoanalyst at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute, where I am currently on faculty and serve as Dean. I am also a Lecturer at the University of Chicago Crown School of Social Work, where I teach on race and clinical practice.
