I have been a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor for 30 years. Understanding the loss that comes with addiction, my goal is to help people gain tools for recovery and stability, to create accountability and support, to help restore relationships, to give hope and encouragement. My experience has been within the judicial system/Board of Pardons and Paroles, psychiatric hospitals, wilderness treatment programs, therapeutic boarding schools, treatment facilities and private practice. I work with adolescents, young adults, adults and couples...and their families.
I offer services in a traditional office setting or a wilderness/outdoor setting with an experiential component...hiking, cordage, leather work, friction fires, whittling and more...#wilderness in the city...I also offer Teletherapy (virtual counseling) if a client is not able to meet in the office or outdoors.
Addiction is a hard and jealous lover. It's the only disease I know that tells us we are doing well when everything we love, value and respect is falling apart and being destroyed. When we are truly doing good it tells us we are worthless and things would be better if we could take the edge off. I love helping people find what is true.
