About
I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 20+ years' experience. In my work with individuals and couples, I help them develop an awareness of the dynamics and internal forces that affect their interactions, which helps to free individuals from gridlocked patterns of conflict. During times of crisis, emphasizing the positive aspects of interactions helps to relieve anxiety, and fosters growth and connection with others. Effective communication skills and understanding of underlying needs decreases resentment, heals old wounds, and leads to more loving relationships.
I have found the Gottman Method to be invaluable in my work with couples. It provides the research-based tools and structure with which to address and repair problems in the relationship. Successful relationships are not without problems; they're successful because each partner has developed mechanisms for coping with challenges in the relationship.
We get there by developing balance in life, in particular between heart and mind, which also enables a more wholistic existence. Certifications: Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy; Gottman Couples Therapist, Gottman Program Leader for "The 7 Principles for Making Marriage Work"; and Gottman Program Educator for "Bringing Baby Home" workshops.
