My work with each client is integrative and dynamic. My "home base" is in contemporary feminist psychodynamic therapy, but I utilize techniques from CBT, DBT, internal family systems, mindfulness, and sensorimotor psychotherapy to tailor my approach to a client's presenting needs. I'm a firm believer that a person will not feel safe exploring difficult areas in therapy if they don't feel comfortable with the human sitting across from them. Therefore, I want you to see my personality and sense of humor as we collaborate, so that we can build a strong working relationship built on trust and mutual understanding.

I am a licensed psychologist who is trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy. Patients who come to me are looking to understand the significance and meaning of their most difficult-to-solve problems—problems like anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relational struggles, and self-harm. They are often patients who have not had success with short-term and/or cognitive therapies, and they have a sense that their struggles signify something more than mere dysfunction—that their problems point to something unique and unknown about themselves.

I understand how difficult seeking help can be for many teens. With over 25 years of experience, I'm able to engage the most challenging young people, so they can get the help they need. I specialize in working with teens who are struggling across multiple domains in their lives. My approach is both trauma-informed and strength based. I have extensive training in ARC (Attachment Regulation and Competency) interventions. I have a long history of running mental health programs for youth and their families, I bring a unique understanding of child welfare, educational, justice and mental health systems.

Sometimes we get caught up in who we think we should be or how we think we should act. This makes it hard to tune in to which parts of ourselves we want to nourish. I invite clients both young and old to take an active role in learning ways to increase meaning and enjoyment in their lives. I work with adolescents, adults, and parents struggling with issues of depression and anxiety, sexuality, and gender identity. Through drawing, storytelling and play, I help kids put their feelings into words and learn effective ways to connect with others. I recognize and celebrate neurodiversity as well as expansive gender expression.

I am a clinical social worker with an MSW from University of Albany's School of Social Welfare. Earlier graduate work was a Master of Psychology, concentrating in Marriage and Family Therapy. Additionally I spent over ten years working as a birth and postpartum doula and childbirth educator, which has offered me a unique background for working with families. In addition I completed a certificate training for working with victims of assault to enhance my knowledge of trauma and its effects.
