You've been in therapy before. While it was, hopefully, a positive experience, you keep finding yourself dealing with the same patterns and issues time and time again. You have insight into the "why" but seem to struggle with translating that to the more permanent changes you desire. You sense that there's a disconnect, and you're exactly right! No, it's not because you're a failure. It's because your system is working exactly how it is designed to, in favor of your survival, not in favor of your happiness. To truly address these issues, we need to employ a modality that can access the sub-cortical parts of the brain & body.

Creative exploration leads to inspired healing. As a dedicated mental health professional, I provide healing through counseling and art therapy services for all people regardless of age, sex, race, religion, or national origin. It is my charge to provide a safe and healing space in which my clients can explore their mental and emotional well-being, establish, and work through their goals. Utilizing counseling, art therapy, and other goal specific activities and techniques. I assist children and adults with behavior modification, social skill development, and conflict resolution in both individual and group settings.

I am currently accepting new clients. I have many years of experience working in the Human Services field. I have counseled individuals with developmental disabilities and those without. Specifically, with goal planning, vocational counseling, job development and disability management. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (since 1996) I have a Masters of Arts degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Michigan State University. I retired in 2015 after 21 years as Senior Vocational Counselor at Community Mental Health here in Lansing, Michigan.

It has been my fortunate and pleasure to work in the field of Human Services for over 20 years. During this time I have worked with very dynamic and diverse groups of people. My goal and passion is to assisted people from all walks of life, young and old, by helping them navigate through life's journey. Rescuing Each Other Animal-Assisted Therapy (REO AAT) is a small private practice office offering support to individuals working to overcome barriers to mental health by partnering with certified professional therapy dogs. We work with children, adolescents, and adults (who love animals!) to address concerns such as anger, anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ support/needs, problem solving, social skills, trauma, and much more. As a PHD candidate in International Psychology and Applied Behavior Analysis my goal is to expand mental and behavioral services in a cultural inclusive and relevant paradigm. Holding a BCBA certification (BCBA), a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, and a BA in Counseling Psychology helps me empathize with individuals from various backgrounds. I have over 25 years of experience working with families in various facets including education, assisted living and community services.
