Loss, uncertainty, and feeling overwhelmed are part of being human. We all experience moments in life that challenge our capacity to cope. Whether you are navigating a life transition, such as a new relationship, aging, new child, or struggling with depression, anxiety, issues around sexuality/gender identity, infertility, loss/grief, medical crisis, my hope is to create a calm, empathic, safe space in which we can explore these issues together. In my practice I utilize a collaborative, strengths-based model to help clients increase awareness and develop strategies to feel more successful in their lives. My therapeutic approach is overall eclectic, drawing on my training in the evidence-based modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). As an LMHC with a Master's Degree in Art Therapy, I also incorporate expressive therapy when beneficial. In all of my work, I aim to focus my approach depending on the needs of the client I am working with.

She has experience with various mindfulness modalities. Melanie provides specialized work in evaluations and referrals for gender affirming medical treatments and surgeries. She takes an individualized approach to treatment and supports clients in their work towards reaching their personal goals. Melanie has experience working in mental health and community services in Massachusetts and South Florida since 1995.

I help people who are exploring questions of sexuality, gender expression, and relationship styles to accept themselves in their beauty and strength, so they can experience loving connection in their lives. Whether you are struggling with gender expression, sexual orientation, desire for multiple partners, BDSM or kink, or other desires that are outside the mainstream, I am here to listen, to educate, to guide, and to help you integrate the parts of you that are currently closed off. I also work with trauma and grief, and provide a space for the boundaried expression and relief of old wounds.
