I am passionate about people and the restoration, maintenance and progression of their relationships. I help people adjust to life changes including: academic, family or work related stress; education, employment or military relocation; and loss. I specialize in “before the ring” counseling, financial matters, interracial coupling, pregnancy care, and racial identity of Biracials. An ideal client for me is someone who has difficulty managing their emotions, engages in frequent negative thinking, and has trouble communicating their needs with family and friends. They want to decrease their anxious or depressive behaviors but have little knowledge of how to begin regulating their emotions.

I believe in meeting people where they are, perpetuating meaningful and supportive connection. I enjoy working with clients who are experiencing abuse, neglect, and trauma and who are suffering from the consequences of that trauma. I will help you understand your specific trauma responses and how to change them. You can find relief. You can heal. My goal is to support you in making changes in your life that will lead to positive outcomes and a fulfilling life.

I will teach you how to live fully in each moment, be unapologetically and authentically you, cope with stress more effectively, regulate your emotions, and improve your relationships with others. My ideal client is ready to work with me, as i support and guide them. I will work with you if you feel like you're doing mostly ok, and I will work with you if you feel like you are a mess and don't even know where to start. Healing is hard work, but it's so worthwhile and I'd love to help you get to the other side and be able to live your best life as your best, most authentic self.

At times, people just want to have a conversation and we put off going to counseling, because honestly we tell ourselves that this other thing is just a little bit more important, a bit more pressing. We forget to invest in ourselves. Life is tough, there is no doubt about that; but why go through it alone. I enjoy working with clients who want to get to the root of their struggles. These clients would like to gain insight into their symptoms, something difficult that has happened to them or to explore cycles and patterns that aren’t serving them. The clients I see often have attended therapy in the past. The clients I see also often present with attachment-based traumas, symptoms of post-traumatic stress, and difficulties in their personal and work relationships.

I treat Anxiety, depression, lack of self-acceptance, and grief problems. I help with the management of anxiety symptoms and depression, helping you to develop coping skills to manage your every day. I help clients identify and challenge cognitive distortions and replace them with positive affirmations. I will teach some mindfulness meditation to help you when anxious & help you obtain a better understanding of your mental health to cope with your emotions.

I understand that talking to someone you don't know about personal issues is difficult, so I do my best to create a safe and relaxed environment. I primarily work with individuals coping with anxiety issues, depression, borderline personality disorder, bipolar d/o, those on the autism spectrum, self-worth and relationship issues. I have a personal interest in working with veterans, college students and individuals struggling with LGBT+ issues. I'm a pretty authentic, honest person, and I like to find and highlight your strengths, especially when you struggle with that.

My ideal client would be someone motivated to do the work on themselves, open to feedback, and doesn't mind being open with me. I do not have a preference; as far as diagnosis, I have a preference for clients who know what they want and are willing to let me help them to get there.

I specialize in Depression, Anxiety, & Trauma/Substance Use. I introduce therapeutic interventions appropriate for an individual's comfort level, leading to long-term personal growth. I allow you to "take the wheel" and work with you as you define your therapy goals. I'm Luisa Silva-Casullo, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist deeply committed to guiding individuals through their unique therapeutic journeys. I intimately understand the complexities of the transition to parenthood, allowing me to be particularly attuned to the needs of women navigating this transformative phase of life. I specialize in working with individuals at any phase of their reproductive journey, including, but not limited to, some of the following themes: contemplating whether or not to have children, fertility struggles, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and coping with the struggles of parenthood.

We work to remove any obstacles such as self-sabotage along with negative behavioral and thought patterns that may be inhibiting you from being the best you.

In therapy you are my co-worker where you bring what you know about living your life. We bring your family members to help support your therapy when we see that as helpful to you. We also set up support for you through your community of human and non-human life.
