My work with clients focuses on being present with emotions, navigating individual and collective traumas, reconnecting to your physical body, and empowering healing and joy. I'm hoping for healing and liberation for us all!

As an Asian-American gay man who grew up in the US South, I knew from a young age that I lived in a world that did not offer me freedom to author my narrative. Thus, I am passionate about building critical consciousness, self-awareness, and self-confidence to counteract oppression and live in the world with empowerment and authenticity. I am privileged and honored to use my experience to heal any client who has ever felt marginalized, outcasted, or misunderstood simply for "not fitting into boxes." Wellness is key and in our conversations I explore your values during counseling therapy sessions. We do explore all aspects of life that are important including physical, mental, emotional, financial, and spiritual health. Typically our initial counseling sessions conversations are casual, it is a platform to ensure that I am the right fit for you.

Ms. Anny Gonell, LCSW-R is a bilingual (Spanish)l, Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive training as a Psychotherapist, Medical and School Social Worker. With over 20 years of experience in social work, she has specialized training in anxiety and depression from the world renowned Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Her therapeutic approach is primarily Cognitive-Behavioral; actively assisting clients in identifying unhealthy behavioral patterns and helping them deveng and lop tools and skills to make positive changes.

I am culturally aware and sensitive to the unique backgrounds, customs, and worldviews of my clients. I am a compassionate therapist who appreciates working side by side with my clients on their therapeutic journey. I utilize a multimodal approach to treatment as I recognize that there is no one approach that applies to all situations. Through building a solid rapport and forming a strong treatment alliance with my clients, I work to help my clients learn healthy and adaptive coping skills, increase awareness, and experience greater joy and meaning in their lives.

I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience working with individuals, families and groups ages 10+. As a school social worker, I have tremendous experience working with children struggling with self-esteem, life transitions, family issues, self-harm, and behavioral diagnoses such as oppositional defiant and conduct disorder. I have extensive experience treating individuals with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, as well as issues with substance and alcohol use. I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment where you can truly express yourself as we explore your past traumas and future goals together.

Through an exploration of self and personal ability, I hope to help you become more present, authentic, and accepting of yourself. Most have issues of anxiety, depression, stress-management, identity, ADHD, bipolar disorder, relationships, life changes, family, grief, school, or career. I am very LGBTQIA+ allied. I am easy to talk to and non-judgmental. I love helping people uncover their untapped strengths and resources, and to assist in guiding them through life's many difficulties. I consider my practice style to be Eclectic, meaning that I draw from several theoretical orientations, and utilize what best fits each client's particular needs.

My clients throughout the years are looking for deeper answers and solutions to everyday problems. They are seeking ways to manage areas of direction, insecurity, depression, self control, anger, interpersonal conflicts, clarity of life purpose, anxiety, problem solving solution skill building. They are trying to find ways to breakthrough and to stop having life live them and instead learning ways to live their life.

At times it may seem as if we're at odds with our mind. The thoughts and feelings we experience seem overwhelming. We can convince ourselves we're undeserving of contentment, love, happiness, success, acceptance, etc. Where does that come from and why is it so easy to believe? For those of us in the LGBTQIA+ community, there are added layers we need to work through, making it difficult for us to thrive. Therapy can play a meaningful role by providing a space to work through the layers, confront our hurtful thoughts and feelings, unburden ourselves of the past, and truly learn to thrive.
