Dr. T specializes in various evidence-based practices and frameworks, particularly around issues affecting Black, Indigenous, and other persons of color and the LGBTQIA+ community. Dr. T works with individuals, families, couples, and groups aged 6-80. Occasionally, I am paired with people who need support with concerns outside my field of practice. I may lack the appropriate knowledge and resources to provide the ethical and competent care you deserve. The Midwest Asian Health Association's Community Mental Health Clinic (CMHC) was established in 2015 with the vision to provide linguistically appropriate, culturally sensitive, and financially affordable mental health services to underserved Asian American & Pacific Islander, Asian immigrants, and other low-income minority populations in the Midwest. The counselors and staff at the CMHC are dedicated to creating community in which all people, regardless of language or ability to pay, will be able to access mental health services to improve their mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

He has over 18 years of clinical experience providing care to clients with a wide range of needs. He serves all ages of clients from pre-adolescent to the life experienced senior citizen. His clinical experience includes outpatient settings, substance abuse clinics, emergency and disaster response teams, at risk adolescent group homes, family services agencies, universities, correctional facilities as well as private practice experience.

Dr. Venus Evans-Winters is a licensed clinical social worker, trauma professional, and professor. She draws upon multiple therapeutic and psychoeducational techniques (e.g. cognitive, dialectical, and reality therapies) to meet clients' mental health and socio-emotional needs. A native of Chicago and representative of the hip hop generation, she helps culturally and linguistically diverse clients cope with chronic stress and trauma. Her practice is influenced by Adlerian theory and centers culturally responsive approaches to practice because we know that culture is a major influence on one's perception of stress and self-efficacy.
