Physical and emotional hygiene are equally important. When we are not tending to our mental wellness, like our physical health, this too can result in suffering and misery. Most of us were taught to give all we have for others, and then some. How do we balance caring for ourselves and others? My approach begins with the belief that the human experience is to know both joy and pain, & every variation of emotion in-between, often in the same moment. I believe that which has been wounded in relationship must be healed in relationship. In order for your true self to emerge it must be witnessed. Just as our deepest glory must be held, so too must our wounds. In these places we will engage a posture of curiosity of how those wounds have impacted your style of relating and the ways you have had to adapt to cope.
