Hello! I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor who is passionate about serving individuals from historically marginalized communities. I believe that therapy and healing are culturally unique and a political and intergenerational process. Sometimes, the obstacles we face relate to systemic issues, such as systems of patriarchy, racism, colonization, homophobia and transphobia, and capitalism. I aim to provide an affirming space to guide clients in exploring the interaction of their identities, beliefs about their self-concept, and perception of their relationships.

As a mental health professional, I provide support to individuals struggling with a broad spectrum of compulsive behaviors that have thrown a wrench in their lives such as those struggles with substance (drugs and/or alcohol), sex and porn addiction, family issues, work/school stress related issues, emotional struggles, past traumas, and much more. I believe in meeting the client where they are at, being direct and maintaining an open and honest line of communication with them.

How we see ourselves can play a large role in our mental health. Through an affirming approach, I focus on helping individuals explore their various identities (racial, gender, religious, romantic, etc.). Similarly, I work with clients who struggle with how they see themselves physically such as low self-esteem and poor body image. Additionally, I focus on helping clients process the curveballs thrown at us otherwise known as life transitions. I also offer space to explore grief and loss in various aspects of life, including physical loss/death of loved ones, as well as emotional loss, romantic loss, aspirational loss, etc.

I believe that one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. Beginning in therapy can be a way for you to start to put together the pieces of your life and who you are. And ultimately, you deserve to live a life that leaves you excited to wake up every morning. Encountering many individuals, who lacked a strong support system, led me into the field of counseling and instilled in me a heart for healing. I am trained in EMDR, specializing in trauma and recovery. Additionally, I am Prepare and Enrich certified. I have completed Levels 1-2 Training in Gottman Couples Therapy and a Gottman Education Leader. I wonder what kind of therapists people scroll through psychology profiles to therapist shop for. When people ask me what my ideal client I actually wonder whats people's ideal therapists? I think this is important when thinking about an ideal client and therapists because I see it as a collaborative work. I'm not here to force you what I think is best for you, therapy is something both the client and therapist figure out together to meet the clients' needs and goals.

I specialize in working with people who are noticing how the negative events and memories of the past are affecting their present lives. This may present as addictions, relational strain, anxiety, stress, or depression. Together we will explore these past events in order for you to write a new story decreasing the intensity of emotions attached to those incidents. I connect with those who identify as Third Culture Children or Cross Cultural Individuals. I strongly empathize with those who identify with multiple cultural aspects. I find that developing your identity while processing through all the layers of life can be challenging.
