I believe in the importance of a strong relationship with clients and work to provide a safe, compassionate environment in which clients feel able to express themselves, examine their experiences and work towards healthy goals. As a therapist with over 20 years of clinical experience, I combine cognitive, behavioral, mindfulness and insight-oriented approaches, with an understanding of how our past experiences affect us today.
My clinical areas of focus include but are not limited to: coping with illness, grief, trauma, aging, anxiety, depression, struggles with life transitions, relationship challenges and stress management. I have extensive experience working with individuals and families affected by chronic illness and grief.
I am knowledgeable about many chronic and long-term illnesses, and the stress that comes with coping with them. I am experienced at collaborating with doctors and home care agencies. I have facilitated support groups for individuals living with illness, as well as groups for caregivers and the bereaved.
