You may be experiencing confusion or frustration because your current relationships are consistently challenging, or you may feel stuck in patterns of behavior that limit your ability to achieve your goals. It has been my experience that even though you may not feel like it right now, every experience - whether joyful or painful - has the potential to contribute to the richness of life and can be deeply transformational. My hope is to work together and to build a relationship built on mutual trust and respect where these experiences can be explored.
My lens is one of attachment: research supports that the way we experience and regulate our emotions is learned from the attachments we develop early in life. A lack of connection can be lonely and distressing. Many of us have used drugs, alcohol, food, relationships, self-criticism and other self-defeating behaviors to numb the pain of disconnection.
Entering into therapy is a courageous first step to begin feeling connected again. I believe that the power of connection can be transformative. My goal is to provide an atmosphere of acceptance and curiosity to help you discover the roots of your pain and help you begin to learn new tools necessary to create a more fulfilling life.
