I have been working with children and their families for the past 12 years. I specialize in working with children with one or more mental health diagnoses, such as ASD, anxiety, depression, or mood disorders, as well as helping their parents/guardians or family members with how to best care for their child. I aim to work collaboratively with families, schools, and other providers in order to instill change. I work individually with adults, with a varying degree of need, including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, and life transitions.
I believe that play is the work of the child and that change can happen within a positive relationship. In therapy I use strength-based approaches, psychodynamic theory and play-based strategies, as well as elements from cognitive behavioral therapy and a focus on EMDR techniques. I operate through a trauma lens and knowledge from attachment based therapy.
I believe that parents are the experts of their child, and that you are the expert of your own circumstances. I want to be a supportive member of your team and my aim is to work closely with the child, individual or family.
