About
Whether you are a parent dealing with child who is acting out or an individual suffering from depression or anxiety I believe I can partner with you to find answers. I work closely with with children, adolescents and families to help them figure out how to lead happy healthier lives. Life is hard and sometimes you just need someone there to come along side you and help you get back on your feet. I believe in a person centered approach to counseling that is focused and driven by the individual needs of each client.
I have worked primarily with children, adolescents and families struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression and behavioral issues. I have extensive training in trauma focused CBT as well as anxiety depression and behavior focused CBT. In addition, I have received additional training in childhood sexual abuse, motivational interviewing, and behavioral interventions.
When working with children I have found that parent involvement is a key factor in the success of therapy. Therefore, I will ask that parents play an active role in their child's healing. This will mean parent involvement in counseling, some parent practice sessions and activities at home.
