I work well with anyone struggling with symptoms of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, processing trauma, processing grief, undergoing life or relationship transitions, exploring their gender or sexual identity, or processing gender violence. I also understand the emotional impact of online relationships, friendships, and community building, and enjoy working with folks immersed in online culture or who have online/long-distance support systems.
I work from an intersectional, strengths based perspective, and am committed to fostering a strong therapeutic alliance with everyone that I work with, as that is the basis of healing in therapy. I myself am a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, am committed to anti-racist, intersectional work, and practice from a space of cultural humility.
I use the perspective that you, the client, are the expert on yourself! I am the expert at providing therapy. Together, we combine our strengths to reach your therapy goals. I am a firm believer that empowering people through therapy can help them overcome obstacles and develop resiliency to help them build lives worth living.

During our initial sessions, we will dive into your current symptoms and presenting problems and then briefly go over your life history. We will also discuss your therapy goals in our first session and if you don't know what they are that's OK! We can brainstorm and come up them together. Most of my clients experience symptom relief within the first few sessions and sustained improvement after.

For folks new to therapy, I start treatment using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to reframe unhelpful thoughts and change behaviors and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to learn emotion regulation and distress tolerance skills. For those who have therapy experience and feel like you've 'hit a wall' with traditional talk therapy, I used EMDR and somatic processing to continue emotional processing.
