Rachel is a social worker who is passionate about supporting the LGBTQ+ community — a community that she is also proudly a part of. During sessions, Rachel strives to foster a safe environment where anything can be brought up without judgment. She has been described as a calming presence and someone who is easy to talk to. It can be difficult to reach out for support in general, but it can be even more so for BIPOC individuals and those who are living with chronic pain and/or chronic illness. Rachel takes great care to make sessions a comfortable place to be authentically who you are.
She enjoys working with adults who are living with chronic illness, having work or college-related concerns, and those facing challenges related to mood or anxiety. Rachel has lived experience as a person with chronic illness and a rare disease, so she can offer a unique level of understanding for those who are looking for support from someone who "gets it."
Rachel pulls from many modalities and will often utilize Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with clients to help them identify and work through ambivalence to change and learn new ways to cope with stressors.
