Welcome to Empoder Therapy! I have been a therapist for 13 years and truly enjoy the work I do. As your therapist, I hope to provide a non-judgmental and supportive environment as you process and learn evidence based, mental health skills. I work with clients of all backgrounds and prioritize humility in the therapeutic setting. I use an intersectional, empowerment, and trauma informed approach in my work with a strong emphasis on psychoeducation. I am formally trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) for anxiety and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma.
I offer a personalized approach to therapy depending on your needs and preferences. I work with trauma, anxiety, panic, depression, grief and loss, relationships, bipolar disorder, caregiver support, empowerment/self-love, chronic pain, BPD, substance use, and the LGBT+ community. I aspire to a sex work/positive approach. Licensed in Texas and Colorado.
Most of us are not taught how to name, process and address dysfunctional thinking patterns and as we become adults, negatively and drastically impacting our mental health. As your therapist, I hope to use empathy, kindness (appropriate use of humor) to empower you how to assertively set boundaries. I value the therapy relationship above all else.
