Do you, all too often, experience situations that feel debilitating and even insurmountable? Do you repeat patterns of behavior that are no longer working for you and seem to add to professional, and/or relational conflicts or stressors? I specialize in navigating life transitions with the goal of building resilience and post-traumatic growth. I work with clients around issues including, but not limited to, queer and trans identity, divorce, being a caretaker, chronic illness, long covid, harm reduction models to substance use, grief, and bereavement. In addition to practicing psychotherapy, I am a professional divorce mediator.
During sessions, there is a client-guided balance between exploration of understanding the “whys” behind our behaviors and confronting concrete challenges in the present. We look not only at why you react the way you do but also how - both from our basic wiring and learned experiences. I draw from narrative, psychodynamic, and feminist modalities.
I uphold the belief that it is, more often than not, impossible to decouple personal and societal traumas. My interactive approach avoids pathologizing and, instead, examines the broader communities we occupy & the agency we have to make incremental changes. Healing is an ongoing, non-linear process, and I look forward to working in partnership with you.
