Finding the right therapist is not always an easy task. It is important that my clients feel comfortable and connected to the healing process as well as the therapeutic relationship. Art therapy goes beyond traditional talk therapy. It is a non-invasive form of healing that facilitates communication from our unconscious.
As a Board Certified Art Therapist and licensed professional counselor I have extensive work with at-risk youth, children and adults living with PTSD, anxiety, depression, life transitions, LGBTQ+, domestic violence, mass terrorism, sexual assault, and family conflict. I am trained in Brainspotting - a brain based technique from processing trauma.
When deciding whether or not Art Therapy is right for the individual it is important to understand that you do not have to be an artist or have any creative experience. There are no requirements to the creative process other than allowing your unconscious to reveal itself through the art and guide your experience towards healing.
