When life feels harder than it should, there's always a reason. Unsettling events, whether past or present, can make daily life difficult. If you feel like you're doing more surviving than thriving, I'm here to help. I work from a trauma model, which looks at the impact of events on the way we think, feel, and act in the present. Abuse, lack of nurture, or catastrophic events can significantly impact normal functioning. Life gets better, and I work hard everyday to move people toward hope and healing.
I work primarily with PTSD, Complex PTSD, and other traumatic struggles. This might show up in relationships, or seemingly "overreacting" to things that might not seem, on the surface, to be a big deal. I often utilize EMDR, and have a collaborative approach to meeting specific needs of each person.
I work through a Christian worldview, and whether spirituality is incorporated in therapy or not, I see all people as having significant worth and value. I have genuine care for the uniqueness and complexity of everyone I meet, and enjoy supporting and guiding my clients in reaching their full potential.
