Counselor, MA, LPCC

I help people overcome emotional barriers to restore healthy self-image and intimacy in relationships. My style is compassionate, playful and heartfelt. I specialize in working with attachment issues, recovering addicts, codependent relationships, adults from neglectful/abusive families, survivors of sexual abuse, social anxiety, issues related to identity and problems with intimacy. I'm also a certified PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator who conducts assessment-based premarital and relationship therapy.
I help my clients to gently and respectfully explore their inner world, unburden negative beliefs about themselves and access internal resources using a number of approaches: EMDR, Internal Family Systems, the Enneagram, mindfulness, self-care skills, CBT and DBT. For couples work, The Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy approaches.
Sometimes welcoming spirituality into the therapeutic process can be a helpful tool. As a seminary graduate and former intern of a local church counseling center, I have experience with spiritual and psychological integration. Although my background is Christian, I've studied many spiritual traditions and warmly welcome people of all beliefs.
