My mindfulness based, family and play therapy training has taught me how to help children that have gone through or may be going through a trauma. A child's language is play. A play therapy room offers a variety of mediums (arts, sand tray therapy, music, games etc) that will help a child safely express what they need to in order to heal through co-regulation, creativity and play. Sessions also will partially include the parents where feelings and coping skills can be discussed before the play time begins and monthly parent only sessions to discuss progress and goals.
I am a licensed professional counselor and registered play therapist-supervisor. I have current openings for child clients as well as openings for supervision for those seeking licensure or a registered play therapist credential.
