About
Dr. Colon, best known as Phillip by clients, patients, and colleagues alike, is a soft- spoken, down to earth clinician who is passionate about his work. His honest, direct, no-nonsense style of relating is comforting to those in his presence. An active, engaging participant in the treatment, Dr. Colon works collaboratively with those under his care. Special care and consideration is given to creating a comfortable, safe environment where any sensitive subject can be discussed with the privacy it deserves. Dr. Colon has dedicated his career to developing, preserving, and maintaining couples, marital, and family relationships.
Dr. Colon completed an Externship in couples and family therapy at The Comprehensive Family Therapy Institute in addition to years of supervision with the developer of CFT. Dr. Colon completed a three year Fellowship at the Westchester Institute for Human Development (Valhalla, NY) where he studied Multi Modal Behavior Therapy.
For more than 25 years Dr. Colon studied the treatment of trauma and dissociation. More recently he received a certificate in CBT and became certified in The Havening Technique. Dr. Colon received a Ph.D. in Psychology from the now Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University.
